罗茨鼓风机进风口的判断很简单，通过下面这几个方法，可以快速的判断进出口。
1、一般原则
一般，罗茨鼓风机都是上进下出，或者上进侧出，这是大部分罗茨鼓风机的进气排气方法。
2、进口消音器
进口消音器会有网格状的进气孔，里面有滤芯，打开进口消音器就可以看到滤芯，有进口消音器的则是进气口，出口消音器为管状，无滤芯等消音配件。
3、出口压力表
如果机头没有进出口消音器，如果我们看到有安装压力表的地方，那个排气口就是出气口，反之则是进气口。
通过上面的判断，基本可以判定出进出口了，其他方法也可以看皮带防护罩上的皮带转动方向，通过转动方向判定进出口。

2、德国Aerzen：
Aerzen 机械设备制造有限公司总部位于德国，在全球共设有36 个子公司。中国总部：艾岑国际贸易（上海）有限公司和艾珍机械设备制造（上海）有限公司，位于上海闵行区。德国Aerzen 产品在中国的组装生产、销售及售后服务均由其全资子公司—艾珍机械设备制造（上海）有限公司负责。
3、Dresser(德莱赛）：
Dresser（德莱赛）公司位于美国的达拉斯，2011 年3 月，被通用电气公司(GE)收购，名称为：GE Energy Dresser Inc.，品牌ROOTS.GE Energy 属于GE 也就是通用电气旗下的Oil & Gas 即油气板块，目前中国市场上的Dresser-ROOTS（德莱赛）品牌是由原来的Dresser-ROOTS（德莱赛）代理商，上海五胜环保工程设备有限公司在国内进行组装，实际上不是Dresser-ROOTS（德莱赛）品牌。

按类型、型号进行选择
罗茨风机可分为多种类型,例如材质坚硬、耐磨且具有一定防腐蚀效果的罗茨风机,该类型的罗茨风机一般适用于发电站、发电厂等场所;具有防爆功能的罗茨风机一般适用于产生易燃易爆气体的场所;而通风性能好、排气速度快的罗茨风机则比较适用于井底、隧道等通风性较差的场所。罗茨风机的型号由字母与数字组成,一般具有固定含义,可根据自身需求进行选择。
按流量、转速进行选择
罗茨风机的流量有着其自身的计算公式,根据公式来计算该罗茨风机的流量即可得到准确的流量系数。转速的选择则是根据叶轮的半径、大小而决定的。
按风压、效率进行选择
风压是气体流经风叶时产生的压力差值,可根据空气密度、压力系数等可测数据进行推算。不同的环境需要不同风压的罗茨风机,因此要根据自身环境进行测量、推算,从而得到风压的值,再根据风压值选择合适的罗茨鼓风机。罗茨风机的效率也是需要根据罗茨风机的风叶形状、系数进行计算的。除此之外,罗茨风机的电功率的大小也决定了罗茨风机的工作效率。

德国KAYEN罗茨风机使用的注意事项：
●起动前的准备：
检查各部位紧固情况，检查进、排气管和机组在基础上的安装质量。
按照电动机铭牌要求接通电源，确认电动机转向正确后再与鼓风机接通，鼓风机严禁反转，电动机功率≥22KW时，应采用降压启动装置。
向轴承油箱和齿轮油箱内加入润滑油，油量应加到圆形油标的中线。
全部打开进排气管道上阀门，用手盘动鼓风机主动轴，应灵活无阻滞，仔细倾听有无不正常响声。
●空负荷试运转：
空负荷试运转是指鼓风机在进排气口阀门全部打开情况下进行的试运转，新安装或大修后的鼓风机都应该空负荷试运转，持续时间不少于30分钟，(排气出口可采用放空装置)，靠近风机出口处，一定要安装放空阀，风机试运转后，慢慢关掉放空阀，请按铭牌上的压力使用，严禁超压使用。
试运转时应注意鼓风机有无不正常的撞击、摩擦等响声，各部位不允许有过高的温度，不正常的气味或冒烟现象，还应检查轴承处振动是否正常，如有上述现象，应立即停机，查明原因，排除故障。
●正常带负荷持续运转：
经试运转良好的机组，方可带负荷持续运转，此时逐步缓慢地调节阀门，直到满负荷，切不可一次突然升压到满负荷，也不允许超负荷运转，以免损坏机组。
正常运转时油箱内用普通机油润滑时，机油温度一般不应高于65C°。轴承部位在X、Y、Z三个方向的振动速度均方根值(有效值)应不大于11.2mm/S。
Precautions for using roots fans
●Preparation before starting:
Check the tightening of each part, and check the installation quality of the intake and exhaust pipes and the unit on the foundation.
Connect the power supply according to the motor nameplate, and confirm that the motor is turning correctly before connecting it to the blower. The blower is strictly prohibited to reverse. When the motor power is ≥ 22KW, a step-down starting device should be used.
Add luJGRicating oil to the bearing oil tank and gear oil tank, and the oil volume should be added to the center line of the round oil gauge.
Fully open the valves on the inlet and exhaust pipes, and move the active shaft of the blower by hand. It should be flexible and non-blocking. Listen carefully for abnormal sounds.
● No-load test run:
No-load test run refers to the test run of the blower with all the inlet and exhaust valves open. Newly installed or overhauled blowers should be run at no load for a duration of not less than 30 minutes. (Exhaust outlets can be used Vent device), near the fan outlet, be sure to install a vent valve. After the fan is commissioned, slowly turn off the vent valve. Use it according to the pressure on the nameplate. Overpressure is strictly prohibited.
During the test run, pay attention to the blower for abnormal impact, friction and other sounds. Excessive temperature, abnormal odor or smoke should not be allowed in each part. Also check whether the viJGRation at the bearing is normal. Shut down immediately, find out the cause, and troubleshoot.
●Continuous operation under normal load:
Only after the well-tested unit can continue to run with load, at this time slowly adjust the valve until it is fully loaded. Never suddenly increase the pressure to full load at one time, and do not allow overload operation to avoid damage to the unit.
When the oil tank is luJGRicated with ordinary oil during normal operation, the oil temperature should generally not be higher than 65C °. The root-mean-square value (effective value) of the viJGRation velocity of the bearing part in the three directions of X, Y and Z should not be greater than 11.2mm / S.
